Group wants Akeredolu to give 10% of appointments to youths

A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Progressives Youths League (CPYL), Ondo state chapter has urged the State Governor-elect, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, to give 10 percent of his appointments to the youths between ages 18 to 35 years.

The state coordinator of CPYL Mr. Adebowale Akinlosotu, stated this while speaking with reporters, shortly after ‎Akeredolu’s transition Sub Committee on Youths and Sports submitted their reports to the steering committee.

He said the incoming government must start looking in the direction of how to empower and appoint some youths into leadership positions.

This, he said would help the state to develop his political structures.

According to him, “We must commend the effort of some our youths in this party, because their commitments was what gave us victory during the election.

“In order to boost their morale, this incoming administration must not marginalise them. He must look in their direction.

“Their activities are enormous. Some of them were always busy doing house to house campaign for the party candidate. Others were on social media defending and also enlightening our people on what they stand to gain if they cast their votes for our party.”

‎The APC stalwart believes that any administration that wants to strive, must appoint some youths in its cabinet.‎

Akinlosotu, however, appealed to Akeredolu to carry the youths along in the formation of his administration.
