Antoine Griezmann has informed Atletico Madrid, that he wants to leave the club and sign for Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.
The French forward is currently on international duty, but appears keen to sort out his future early.
Griezmann has emerged as Jose Mourinho’s top priority ahead of the 2017/2018 season and he admitted in an interview that there is a 60% chance of him moving to Old Trafford.
And now Deportes Cope and other Spanish media outlets, are reporting that Griezmann has spoken with Atletico’s owners and asked them to allow him to join United.
The 25-year-old was waiting for United to qualify for the Champions League before pushing for a move, with their Europa League triumph booking their place in the group stages.
Atletico’s hierarchy have insisted that any club wanting to sign Griezmann, would need to pay his €100 million (£83.7m) release clause.
