Antoine Griezmann has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid.
The 26-year-old has put pen to a paper on a contract extension, that ties him to the club until 2022.
MirrorSport reports that although he has seen his salary increase to £12.3million a season, Griezmann’s release clause remains unchanged at £88million.
The player was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but opted to remain with the La Liga side, because of the transfer ban imposed on them by FIFA.
Confirming his decision last week , Griezmann said: “The ruling of the CAS has come through. Atletico cannot recruit. With my sporting advisor, Eric Olhats, we decided to stay.
“It’s a hard time for the club. It would be a dirty move to leave now. We talked to the leaders and we will be back for next season.”
