Former Delta State Commissioner for Works and Chairman, Governing Council, Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, has said that Delta South will remain faithful to the rotation principle of governorship positions in the state.
Funkekeme in an exclusive chat with DAILY POST on the sideline of the mega rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), organized by the Delta mandate of the PDP in Warri and Asaba on Wednesday, added ” We are determined to rule the state as PDP, the only party that provides the dividends of democracy. There is no opposition party in this state. Delta South PDP will remain faithful to rotation principle”.
He stated that Delta Central was first to take its turn in the rotation arrangement, followed by Delta South and that it was the turn of Delta North to complete its second term in the 2019 governorship election.
While acknowledging that Delta North is in the first term of its turn, he said that some 2019 election, Delta South will work assiduously with other senatorial districts to deliver Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his second term, to complete the second term for Delta North, before the rotation will return to the central senatorial district.
Hon. Ross Uredi, who added his voice at the event, assured that Isoko people stand with Delta Mandate in the decision to support and vote massively for Senator Okowa again in 2019, adding that “the message is crystal clear that Okowa is the governor of Delta State till 2023”.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Delta North Coordinator of the group, Hon. Moses Iduh, urged all to take to door-to-door and house-to-house campaign for Governor Okowa 2019, saying that, “there is no other governor for 2019 in Delta State than Governor Ifeanyi Okowa”.
He urged all Deltans of voting age to ensure that they do not only register but mobilize everyone in their neighbourhood that is 18 years and above to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voters’ registration by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and get registered to enable them cast their vote for Governor Okowa.
The Chairman, PDP Delta South Senatorial District, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, assured that Delta South people were very faithful and committed to their words, adding that they will do their best to deliver Okowa as governor in the 2019 election, since “Our word, is our bond”.
