President Goodluck Jonathan visits Governor Wada

The Governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada, has been discharged from Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, where he has been receiving treatment for a broken thigh.

Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Felix Ogedengbe, who endorsed Wada’s discharge said the fracture would still require at least six months to heal.

He however added that doctors would continue to monitor the recovery process.

Wada was last Friday injured in an auto crash that killed his aide-de-camp, ASP Idris Mohammed, and two officials, as his convoy was returning from a function at Anyingba.

The Governor’s official car, a Lexus SUV, had somersaulted after the tyre burst. It reportedly plunged into an uncompleted building at Elete Emi Woro between Prime Polytechnic and Salem University in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.

Shortly before the Kogi state helmsman left the hospital around 9am on Monday morning, President Goodluck Jonathan visited him and thanked God for sparing his life.
