The Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has told players and officials of Rangers, that he will fly striker Ifeanyi Egwim out for treatment.

Egwin, who came off the bench in the 81st minute of their final game against El Kanemi Warriors, was taken straight to hospital after fracturing his left shin in a challenge with goalkeeper, Kazeem Yekini.

“Don’t dispair, we will fly him abroad for proper treatment,” Ugwuanyi said.

Rangers striker, Chisom Egbuchulam, who scored a hat-trick in their 4-0 win, was clearly upset after the injury and says there was nothing to celebrate.

“If there is anything to be happy about, it is the fact that Rangers have won the league title and broken a 32-year yoke,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“Besides, we’re part of this achivement but then, it does not call for joy that I scored three goals with my fellow striker suffering a serious injury.”
