Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has expressed disappointment over the slow pace of work at the ongoing construction of late Dr. Sam Onwu Diagnostic Centre, Enugu.

The governor, who was being taken round the complex project by the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Patrick Ikpenwa and the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Rita Mba while on the spot-check of the facility was equally not happy about shoddy job done in some parts of the project.

The governor was not happy that some stakeholders on the project were giving conflicting explanations on the questions he asked.

He, therefore, enjoined them to put their records straight, adding that they should expedite action on the project with a view to completing it.

He equally warned that all materials provided for the project should be made available without further delay.

The governor equally directed appropriate authorities to investigate the encroachment on the government land at the centre and brief government accordingly.

Ugwanyi who left the centre in anger noted that work so far done was not commensurate with funds expended on the project by the government.
