Gov. Danbaba Suntai of Taraba on Monday described the death of Mr. Haruna Tsokwa, the Speaker Taraba House of Assembly, as a great loss to the state.

The governor said this in Jalingo via a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa.

The statement said that Tsokwa was a politician of considerable standing, adding that he had performed well in his representation of Takum 1 Constituency in the state legislature since 2007.

“The late Hon. Tsokwa will be remembered for his ability to stand firm by any cause he believed in and his contribution to the democratic experience in Taraba State,” it said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Tsokwa died on Monday morning at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, after a brief illness. (NAN)
