Governor Obi expresses joy over release of Ozekhome

Gov. Peter Obi of Anambra State has expressed joy over the release of the Human Rights activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

Governor Obi who had earlier appealed to the kidnappers to release the famous lawyer unhurt, thanked God for his safe return home and advised Ozekhome’s abductors to realize that by their conduct, they were doing violence to themselves and the country.

Describing Ozekhome as a good man, who is concerned with the progress and development of the country, the Governor advised him not to lose hope and confidence in Nigeria because of the perfidy of those that were misguided.

“I have seen those who became hostile to the society on account of societal ills that visited them. In the case of Ozekhome, it is my wish that he sees the entire tragedy as a challenge to him to even work harder for the restoration of sanity to our society that is buffeted by lawless people”, he said.
