The Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang has reiterated its commitment towards ensuring that all the state’s ongoing projects are completed before the expiration of his tenure in 2015.
The Governor made the disclosure yesterday shortly after inspecting some roads and bridges under construction at Ret, 27 kilometer Fobur Angwere road. He was also out to inspect the Olympic size stadium at Goodluck Jonathan road, the on going construction work at the new Government House, around Little Rayfield in Jos South Local Government Area and the road the construction
leading to the permanent site of Jos University Teaching Hospital Laminga.
The Jos University Teaching Hospital road construction project was awarded to PW Nigeria limited at the cost of N2.9 billion by the State government, which is billed to be completed by June this year.
At the Zaria road stadium, the MD BCC Tropical Nig Ltd, Mr. Plamen Iliev told the Governor that all the facilities at the stadium were to Fixed according to FIFA standard.
The Contractor also presented a FIFA certificate of completion of the syntactic turf to the Governor.
Governor Jang disclosed that he will expand the road project to British America junction down to Farin Gada in Jos north local government of the state.
The Governor frowned at contractors handling the five kilometer roads in all the 17 Local Government Areas of the state, and warned that they should ensure that they complete the work before the end of this year.
He further stressed that he would do everything possible to give the state a face-lift and promised to leave a legacy that will stand the test of time before his administration come to a close.
