Governor Geidam swears in newly appointed Perm Secs


To ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the people of Yobe state, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam yesterday sworn in newly appointed four Permanent Secretaries who will be deployed to ministries, Boards and Parastatals in the state.

Those sworn in were Khadi Abubakar Mahdi of the State Sharia Court of Appeal, Ustaz Babagana Mallam Kyari, former Special Adviser to Governor Gaidam on Religious Affairs, Alhaji Tijjani Yusuf and Alhaji Goni Ibrahim.

The governor, while congratulating the new Permanent Secretaries after taking their oath of office and allegiance, said the appointment of the permanent Secretaries was in accordance with the 1999 constitution, adding that their appointment was well -deserved.

He disclosed that his administration had been working on the list for the past several months to ensure transparency and merit, pointing out that the newly sworn in Permanent Secretaries were appointed based on merit.

Gaidam urged them to work towards the general welfare and living standard of civil servants in the state.

Responding on behalf of the others, one of the new secretaries, Ustaz Babagana Kyari, while appreciating the governor for the appointment, pledged their loyalty to the state him and promised that they will perform their responsibilities with fairness, devoid of corruption as well as ethic or religious considerations.
