General Isreal Akpodoro, a former militant leader in the Niger Delta has revealed the reason behind the renewed militancy in the oil rich region.

This is just as he has called for the immediate sack of Special Adviser to the President on Amnesty Program, Paul Boroh.

He said Boroh was the wrong man for the job because he was not qualified to head the office.

Speaking with SaharaReporters, the former militant leader, who declared his support for Muhammadu Buhari alleged that some persons had vowed to make the current government ungovernable.

He alleged that during a meeting held before the 2015 presidential election, with Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson in attendance, some natives of the region vowed to trouble the nation if their kinsman, failed to win the election.

According to him, “Bayelsa governor, Seriake Dickson was in the meeting, Kingsley Kuku, former Amnesty Program DG was there, all the prominent ex-militants like Tompolo, Asari Dokubo, many other were there. The only person, not present was Ateke Tom. At the meeting, a motion was raised that if our brother, then President Goodluck Jonathan did not win the 2015 election, we would make the country ungovernable for whoever emerges.”

He insisted that the renewed attacks on oil pipelines in the Niger Delta region has nothing to do with the EFCC declaring former warlord, Tompolo wanted.
