Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State, on Wednesday put the wild rumour about his health to rest as he inaugurated the administrators of the 57 Development Centers.
Chime personally appeared at the Michael Okpara Square, venue of the event, about seven days after he was rumoured dead.
Speaking while inaugurating the administrators, he warned them that they were not appointed to flex muscles with the chairmen of local government areas in the state.
He disclosed that their appointment followed consultations, noting that they owed their appointment not only to him, but also to the people.
The Governor also told the administrators that they were appointed to serve as tools in the hands of the council chairmen with a view to achieving results.
He assured them that they will enjoy much support like other elected officers, stressing that the administrators were expected to be directly in touch with the grass roots.
Chime expressed his gratitude to the people of the state for their prayers.
The climax of the event was the handing over of 57 vehicles procured by the state government to the administrators.
