A federal lawmaker representing Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Hassan Atayoma Omale has said that governor Yahaya Bello’s parallel congress of the All Progressives Congress, APC, would not be recognised.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST in Abuja, the lawmaker pointed out that the guideline of the APC was clear on how congresses were held.
“The APC guideline is clear. It said, the outgoing party executive of the state is to conduct congress. In this case, Haddy Ametuo is the outgoing state executive chairman who should conduct congress.
“As Ametuo was conducting the Congress for wards, local government and the state in accordance with the guidelines, we heard that a group called GYB was also conducting Congresses,” he added.
Omale backed the National Secretariat of APC, which said all parallel congresses would not be recognized.
The lawmaker insisted that Kogi governor’s group had carried out the exercise in futility.
He was optimistic that Comrade Adams Oshiomole will solve the problem if the incumbent national chairman, John Odigie Oyegun failed to resolve it before he leaves office.
