The Media aide of Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi who was kidnapped 5 days ago has regained his freedom.

The media aide, Freddy Ndigbara was kidnapped at Kaani in Khana Local Government Area of the state during an APC rally in the area.

His abductors had demanded a 100million naira ransom before he would be released.

Meanwhile, in a statement signed by the Police PRO in Rivers state, Ahmad Mohammad, the police confirmed the release of Ndigbara adding that he was set free by his abductors at about 9pm Friday night.

The Police however did not confirm if any ransom was paid to secure his release.

“Freddy Ndigbara, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Rivers State who was kidnapped some days ago has been released tonight at about 2115 hours. Further details underway, please,” the statement says.
