The Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi says the sum of N300 million has been approved to aid the fight against Ebola in the state.
Amaechi disclosed this while speaking with newsmen at the Port Harcourt International Airport on his arrival from Lagos.
The Governor said the state was ready to do all within its stead to make sure Ebola does not survive.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization, WHO, has expressed commitment to assist the Rivers State Government in their effort to stamp-out Ebola in the state.
Country Representative of WHO, Rui Vaz said this on his visit to the state Ministry of Health.
Vaz, who commended the Rivers state Government for their efforts so far, disclosed that the World Health Organization would provide among other things technical and logistic support.
He also assured the people of the state that Ebola outbreak could be contained, stressing that the most important aspect of combating the outbreak was surveillance and case management.
Vaz further made a passionate appeal to the media in the management of every information with regard to the Ebola outbreak.

The state Commissioner for Health, Sampson Parker disclosed that the Ministry had located at least, 97 per cent contact persons.
