Gov. Ugwuanyi defection rumour lie from pit of hell – PDP Senatorial aspirant, Chinedu Eya

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, Hon. Chinedu Eya has described as idle talks and blatant falsehood claims that Governor Ifeanyi of the State is set to dump the party.

Rumour was strife on the social media that the Governor, alongside his Ebonyi counterpart, David Umahi, would soon announce his exit from the PDP.

However, Eya, a senatorial aspirant in Enugu North District, told DAILY POST that the claim was a handiwork of political contractors who were worried over the Governor’s soaring popularity.

He said it was ill conceived to think that a Governor enjoying such popularity would leave the same platform under which he was delivering on his promises to the people.

According to him, “Governor Ifeanyi is one of the most popular governors in the country. His good works in the State has touched on the heart of the people, and that is why the name ‘Gburugburu is a household name.

“So, it is clearly a lie from the pit of hell for anybody to say that he is defecting to the APC or any other party at that.

“The purveyors of the mischief went as far as saying he is not in good terms with some leaders of the party. That is another fallacy from the seat of mischief and serial blackmailers.

“Governor Ugwuanyi is our leader and we are in talks with him. So, I want to say emphatically that he has no such plan. It should be ignored and discarded as outright falsehood.

“He has contributed so much to the PDP and he assiduously working with the mandate given to him by the people through the Party’s platform.”

Eya added that “it is a cheap lie considering that there is no opposition in Enugu State. Even the key members of the APC can attest to that, as they have also continued to laud the Governor’s efforts publicly.

“Ugwuanyi is not playing politics with the governance of Enugu State and that is why no community is left out in the developmental programmes of his administration, civil servants have also never had it this good.”

The Senatorial hopeful called on the people of the State “to keep supporting the Governor and go ahead to renew the mandate given to him 2019.

“His re-election is already a done deal going back the massive support he is enjoying across board.

“So, I urge the Governor not to be distracted by the antics of faceless individuals making bad use of the social media.”
