Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reacted to the death of Lagos State first-class monarch, Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru.
Oniru died in Lagos after a brief illness.
He was aged 82.
Under his reign, Iru land, the host of the highbrow Oniru and Victoria Island, became a mega location with investments and buildings worth hundreds of billions.
Reacting to his death, the governor commiserated with the Oba’s family.
He wrote on Twitter, “On behalf of the government and people of Lagos, I commiserate with the Oniru Royal Family on the transition of HRH Oba Idowu Oniru who joined his forebears.
“ His service to the state and country at large will remain his enduring legacy. Adieu.”
