Gov. Okowa urges PDP Councillors to work hard for Delta LG election

The Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, today urged all Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Ward Council representing the party in the forthcoming local government election in the state to work hard ahead for their election.

The governor made the statement during the Isoko North Local Government PDP Campaign flag off which was held at Ekwerigbe Primary school ground today.

Governr Okowa noted that the choice of Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, Chairman and Miss Joy Oke-Oghene Okor as his Vice and all other 20 Councilors from the various Wards shows that the peoples interest at the grassroots level were fully represented.

“Always lead the campaign of the party till 2019. I urged you all to contribute your own quota to the growth and developments of your various places once elected and to all my political appointees, do well to also contribute your own quota to the growth and development of your people”.

Governor Okowa also commended the party leaders in Isoko North for their sense of maturity put in display and by steering the wave during the party’s primaries which produced all the Councillors and in ensuring that all crisis were resolved amicably.

Governor Okowa also commended the Delta State House of Assembly for the quick passage of the 2018 budget, noting that the budget will attracts more projects to Isoko nation come 2018.

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Esiso in his speech commended all PDP faithful in Isoko North for the confidence reposed on the party.

He noted that, “In PDP, we all have equal rights, no discrimination” just as he advised all the Councilors and PDP faithful to work hard in order to deliver the party in all forthcoming elections.

On his part, the immediate past Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comr. Ovuzourie Macaulay noted that PDP in Isoko North is not a family affair but a party for everybody and every community.

He urged the state governor to allocate more projects to Isoko nation in the 2018 budget, promising that Isoko people will deliver PDP in all forthcoming elections in the State.
