The Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa Wednesday said Delta people should blame the immediate past administration led by Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan for its failure to complete the Trans-Warri/Ode-Itsekiri road in Warri South Local Government Area.
He made the assertion at the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, campaign held at the Warri Township Stadium.
The Governor said, “You don’t have to blame me that the Trans-Warri/Ode-Itsekiri road is not completed. Blame the immediate past administration and not me.”
He disclosed that upon assumption of office, the past administration owed the contractor handling the project the sum of eight billion, eight million naira, stressing that, “because of the debt, the contractor abandoned work and moved out of site”.
Governor Okowa, who was flanked by his Deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan and others, boasted that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, will defeat the All Progressives Congress, APC and other political parties in the state.
He appealed to Deltans to come out en masse to collect their permanent voter cards, PVCs, and vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates in the elections.
