A Chieftain of the Advance Congress for Democrat Party in Delta State, Hon. Johnbull Okoro has stated that Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has allegedly plunged the vast majority of Delta citizens into two years “despondency”, “repressed” and “depressed” conditions.
Okoro made the assertion in a chat with select newsmen in Ozoro, Headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Okoro also stated that the governor has failed in his two years administration of the State, stressing that people still live in abject poverty as against the governor’s promise of prosperity for all Deltans.
Okoro stated that the governor’s failure to pay the Local Government Council Workers out of the monthly federal allocation accruing to the State is a clear fact that the State Governor is never concerned about the well-being of its citizens.
“Our checks revealed that the initial gentleman agreement entails sharing of the monthly federal allocations accruing to Local Government Councils in Delta State in such a way that the Local Government Councils will get 50%, while the remaining 50% will be used to pay primary school staff, even as it was reliably gathered that the Okowa administration stopped release of the 600 million naira his predecessors used to augment Local Government allocations monthly.”
“I would have simply wished Deltans happy celebrations of the Democracy Day but there is nothing to celebrate from this Governor Okowa administration.”
“There is nothing to celebrate on the two years of Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa’s Government.”
He, however, advised the State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to mend his ways if he dreams of coming back for second tenure in 2019 pointing out that, “Governor Okowa’s Town hall meeting was a way of showcasing his failure in public for Deltans and Nigerians to see.
