Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has sworn-in, Mr. Ahmad El-Marzuq, the re-appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state.
Speaking at the ceremony on Friday, Masari said that El-Marzuq was reappointed based on his track record of service.
According to the governor, “It is during his tenure as state’s Attorney General that the state produced the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mrs. Safiya Badamasi. She is the first SAN in the whole North West.
“We are grateful for the contributions he rendered to our dear state, we need to pray for him to succeed,” he said.
In his remarks, El-Marzuq solicited for the continuous support of the staff of the ministry for quick dispensation of justice in the state.
He assured people that he would continue to join hands with the staff of the ministry to move the state forward.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that El-Marzuq was born in 1962 in Daura.
He had his primary school education between 1969 and 1975.
El-marzuq completed his secondary school education in Barewa College, Zaria, in 1980 and proceeded to Bayero University, Kano, where he obtained his LLB degree in 1985 and was called to the Nigerian bar in 1986.
