Gov. Masari mourns former IGP, Coomassie

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has expressed shock and sadness over the death of former Inspector General of Police and Sardaunan Katsina, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie.

Governor Masari, through his spokesman, Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, in a statement lamented that with the death of the former IG, who was also the Chairman of the Northern Consultative Forum, NCF, Nigeria had lost one of its last standing patriots who served the nation with distinction.

Governor Masari described the former IG as a highly patriotic, disciplined, reliable and committed Nigerian whose invaluable counsel would seriously be missed by both Katsina State, Northern Nigeria and the nation in general.

“Katsina State has lost a son that everybody was proud to be associated with. He was a true patriot who had little time for anything other the pursuit of advancing the interest of Nigeria.

“Whatever assignments he was given he persued them with a messianic zeal that would only abates with success.

“Alhaji Ibrahim Commassie has left a vacuum that will take time to fill. It is my sincere hope that other leaders will strive to emulate him,” the Governor noted.

While condoling the Emir of Katsina and the immediate family of the deceased, the Governor prayed to Allah to forgive him all his shortcomings and make paradise his final resting place, even as he also prayed to Allah to grant the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss.
