Despite the conflicting court orders that recently trailed Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s reign in office, he resumed office on Monday at the state government house in Umuahia, the state capital.
Recall that on June 27, the Federal High Court in Abuja sacked the governor for allegedly submitting false information to his party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the party’s governorship primary in December 2014.
Ikpeazu was ordered to vacate office immediately.
Despite the ruling, however, Ikpeazu had insisted he remained the governor.
