Gov Akeredolu tells Ondo pilgrims what to do in Saudi Arabia

The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has urged intending pilgrims from the state to Saudi Arabia for the this year’s hajj to face their religious duties squarely while in the holy land.

He gave the admonition at the farewell prayer session organized for the over 200 intending pilgrims going for the 2019 hajj from the state.

The Governor, who spoke at the Muslim Welfare Board, Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital, emphasized that they must exhibit good behavioural conduct during their stay while undertaking the religious rites.

He also maintained that pilgrims from the state had always represented the state as well as the country well which, a practice this year’s pilgrims must uphold.

“You are our ambassadors from the state. You are going there to represent us. Represent us very well.

“Nobody is known by town, you are known by your state. Pilgrims from Ondo State have always done well. I am advising you to keep it up,” Akeredolu said.

He also charged the intending pilgrims to find time to pray for the state and the country as a whole.

Meanwhile, the state’s 200 pilgrims, who would be joining other Muslim faithful around the world in Saudi Arabia, had undergone the necessary medical screening to ascertain their fitness for the religious exercise.
