The Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has charged the state police command to fish out the killers of a model and graduate of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Oluwaseun Ajila, who was raped and stabbed to death in Akure, the state capital.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Segun Ajiboye, Akeredolu sympathised with the family of the deceased, adding that necessary support would be given to the police to fish out the perpetrators of what he described as a dastardly act.
In the statement made available to DAILY POST, Akeredolu admonished youths in the state to rededicate themselves to hard work and shun acts that are capable of truncating their future.
The statement reads: “Akeredolu is committed to his administration’s mandate of protecting lives and properties of every resident in the state.
“Ondo State is not a haven or safe place for criminals and their backers to carry out their heinous crimes. It is either they change from their evil ways or the long arm of the law catches up with them.
“Let Seun’s killers be aware that they will be fished out wherever they are hiding.
“The governor asks the state police command to go after the killers for prosecution to ensure that the deceased and her family get justice.
“He urges youths in the state to shun acts that are capable of truncating their future and embrace hard work, with the promise that his administration will continue to come up policies that will ensure better future for them,” the statement read.
Oluwaseun Ajila, who was said to be preparing for her convocation next Wednesday and the only child of her mother, was reportedly killed after her assailant who are yet to be identified, raped her in her mother’s house around Sunday Bustop, Ijoka, Akure.
Meanwhile, the police had confirmed the arrest of Oluwaseun’s boyfriend, Ebenezer Adedimola in connection with the killing.
