Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi state has visited victims of Azare market inferno, during which he shed tears over their ordeal.

The governor, who cut short his sallah holiday, said his visit to commiserate with traders over the market fire disaster demonstrates his government’s concern to citizens’ plights.

Abubakar described the incident as tragic, apart from the windstorm that killed people and destroyed property in the state on Saturday.

“I commiserate with the good people of the state for suffering two disasters within hours. However, let’s accept the incidents as God’s plan,” said Abubakar.

Abubakar lamented that the market inferno come at a time when President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to economic development of the country.

He assured that his government will do everything possible to liaise with the federal government through the national emergency management agency to come to the aid of the fire victims.

“Traders are vital to every economic development as such government has placed priority on their business activities in tandem with APC’s campaign promise,” he said.

Abubakar cautioned hoodlums against looting goods belonging to victims of the inferno.

The governor however assured of adequate security in the state.
