Gombe United and Katsina United have secured promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after the last fixtures of the season were played in the Nigeria National League (NNL) on Saturday.
For Gombe United, it is an instant return to the topflight. They beat Supreme Court 3-1 at the Area 3 football pitch in Abuja.
The victory ensures they beat Dreams FC who won 1-0 against FC Zamfara to the ticket, winning the Division A2 with 28 points.
Katsina United will also play in the NPFL next season, after they sealed a 1-0 win against Kogi United, finishing with 27 points from 14 matches.
The Abdulmumini Aminu-owned club make their return after a 14-year hiatus and beat Mighty Jets to the ticket. Jets were beaten 3-1 by Jigawa Golden Stars in Dutse.
Gombe United and Katsina United will campaign in the NPFL next season, alongside Remo Stars who picked their promotion ticket after a 2-0 win against COD United last weekend.
