Russian midfielder, Aleksandr Golovin, has had a change of mind about his move to Chelsea, L’Equipe reports.
Golovin is now understood to be heading to join AS Monaco “imminently”, in a deal worth €30m.
Earlier this week, CSKA Moscow president, Evgeniy Giner, confirmed the player would leave the club.
But Giner refuted claims that a deal had been agreed with Chelsea.
“In order not to ruin [Golovin] we must let him go. But we have no solution for today,” Giner told Russian outlet Sport24.
“When we receive an offer, we always try to negotiate openly.
“Indeed, we were visited by the vice-president of Monaco [Vadim Vasilyev] and made a proposal for Golovin.
“Chelsea? There is no closed arrangement with them. But the question of his transition to another club will be decided, I think, in the next couple of days.”
The 22-year-old is believed to have attracted attention from Arsenal and Juventus too, after a fine outing at the 2018 World Cup, hosted in his homeland.
