God will punish looters of public funds – Cleric

Pastor David Popoola, In-charge of the Living Faith Church, Lokoja, on Sunday admonished those looting Nigeria’s treasury to desist from the act or face the wrath of God.

Popoola gave the warning in his sermon in Lokoja, saying that God’s anger ‘’will surely come upon them if they fail to repent’’.

The pastor, whose sermon dwelt on “Gateways to Financial Dominion”, however, urged Nigerians to always extend their hands of fellowship to the needy in the society.

“Giving is one of the main gateways to financial dominion, abundance and prosperity,” the Cleric said.

Taking his text from Luke 6 verse 38 in The Holy Bible, Popoola said: “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

“For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured back to you.

‘’When you give to the needs of others as commanded by God, He will give you divine ideas that will make you to prosper.

“Financial dominion is a promise by God that is practically based on the covenant of giving; the more you give the more you receive.

“We must be committed to giving to the poor and the needy among us, giving to promote God’s Kingdom and to our parents,” he said.

The pastor, who also quoted from Deut.15 verse 11, said: “For the poor shall no cease in the land; you shall open your hand wide to your brother, the poor and the needy in your land,” he said.

He also urged the people to avoid any form of stealing and falsification of figures, saying that gesture from such means would not be rewarded by God.

The cleric also called on all Christians to be faithful in paying their tithe as commanded by God, and be committed to Kingdom promotion endeavours. (NAN)
