God has prepared for Nigeria a new century of Jubilee – Bishop Kana Mani

Bishop Emeritus Emmanuel Kana Mani has explained the choice of his church themes for synod in the last three years, attributing it to circumstances bedeviling the nation as well as to address the church, the society, the nation and global issues at a given time.

The Bishop revealed this on Saturday during the 2015 synod with the Theme: “Restoration of what the locusts and the quailed birds have eaten”, a massage he drew from the Book of Joel chapter 2 and verse 25 in the Bible.

According to him, through prayers and listening to the “still-small voice” of God Almighty he chose his theme. He said the choice was done through the “inspiration of the Holy Spirit” to address certain challenges facing the society and the nation Nigeria.

Quoting from his previous Bishop’s Charge, he said, ” Owing to growing anxiety, concern and fear of the future of Nigeria, coupled with unfavorable predictions that Nigeria would break up and become a failed nation, between 2014 and 2015, I chose my 2013 synod theme to address such threats.

He said, the 2013 synod theme: ” 2015 Phobia: God is in Charge” was to counter negative predictions in order to alley the fear of Nigeria and Nigerians, adding that, various media houses gave the 2013 synod wide publicity both locally and internationally.

The Bishop said, the theme for 2014, which is: “The Egyptians you see today, tomorrow, you see them no more” is a chronological follow-up of the 2013 synod theme to encourage his members and Christian community and the nation to have absolute faith in God to turn their hopelessness to optimism of hopefulness and their bright future under God’s supreme leadership in the affairs of Nigeria.

“The 2015 synod theme, has a link to what our visionary leader, Primate N.D. Okoh, chose few years ago for the national church. It benefitted the church and Nigeria immensely. A powerful communique was issued and its impact was felt and recognized. I hope that it is the same word of God that we will also be blessed. This is a divine prophetic promise of restoration for Nigeria” he said.

He said, God has made Nigeria the largest and richest nation in Africa and placed her at the oil-rich trigger position of our continent that we might show Africa and the world, the way of prosperity, freedom and equity in the fear of God and love of humanity. Adding that, glorious is our future for the Lord will bring restoration upon Nigeria.

The Bishop also observed that Nigeria has experienced dilapidation, political anxiety, division, dissipation, diseases, disaster and destruction as well as wars, waste and worry, in the past 100 years of her historical foundation and over 50 years of leadership by intrigue and crookedness in politics, but at this turn of the century, God has prepared for Nigeria a new century of Jubilee.
