The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, on Tuesday urged Nigerians to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver the nation from its current challenges.
Masari made the call after the Eid-el-Kabir prayer in Katsina and was contained in a statement by his Media Assistant, Abdu Labaran Malumfashi.
The governor noted that there was no challenge that committed leadership and prayers could not overcome.
Stressing that he had no doubt in the capacity and ability of Buhari to lead Nigeria out of its current challenges, Masari said, “President Muhammadu Buhari is not new on this job, nor is the challenge new to him. In 1983, when the country was tottering on the brink of collapse he came in and salvaged the situation.
“That passion and burning desire to serve selflessly are still in him. These are evident in the manner he is handling the economy and the security challenges confronting the country.
“God has brought him again to do that which he successfully did all those years back when economic and security challenges had all but brought the country down on its knees, and I am confident that he will do it if we give him the support and cooperation he requires. He needs our prayers too.”
