The grandmasters of data, Globacom, has announced that it recently concluded a massive and comprehensive upgrade of its architecture across Nigeria to optimize its efficiency and radically improve the experience of subscribers on the network.
In a statement released in Lagos, the company said it had built hundreds of new transmitting sites across Nigeria to complement existing ones and massively improve the telco’s signals. This is intended to give more Nigerians access to relish Globacom’s very reliable 2G, 3G and 4G services.
The statement added that it had swapped obsolete parts with brand new state-of-the-art components, provided new power supply equipment in all transmitting sites, while fiber relocation had been completed resulting in higher fiber route and network availability.
“Transmission capacity has been increased with pure IP (Internet Protocol) backhaul in several states across Nigeria. The data core network interface ports have been upgraded from 40 GB to 100GB thereby doubling the network handling capacity”, the statement declared.
Globacom observed that it was customary for its in-house personnel to carry out periodic upgrade on the network to keep it in optimum shape for top notch service and provide employment opportunities for young Nigerian graduates to be gainfully employed.
Apart from the network upgrade, the company recently launched two new products “Glo Yakata” and “Glo Oga SIM” to further excite its customers and offer them more value for money.
“Glo Yakata” offers up to N2,200 per cent bonus on every N100 recharge and above, while “Oga SIM” gives new Glo data subscribers and old customers who have been off the network for three months and above a whopping 125 per cent bonus on any data bundle they buy.
It will be recalled that Globacom clocked fifteen years on August 29, 2018, and the recent upgrade was designed to position the network for sustained quality service in the years ahead.
