Giwa’s nine-match unbeaten streak ends in Kano

Kano Pillar hammered Giwa FC 4-1 on Thursday, to end the Jos Elephants’ nine-game unbeaten run.

Rabiu Ali converted two penalties in the 6th and 39th minutes, after he was brought down by goalkeeper Friday Achimugwu and defender Ibrahim Akide respectively.

Adamu Mohammed also scored twice, as Pillars fired themselves back into the race for what will be their fourth straight league title.

They now sit third on the Nigeria Premier League table, with 21 points from 12 matches and travel to Akure to face Sunshine Stars this Sunday.

Giwa are now joint fifth with FC Ifeanyi Ubah with 20 points from 12 matches.
