Following its banishment to Ilorin as a result of the alleged trouble caused by its fans, the Management of Giwa Football Club of Jos, said it has written to inform the League Management Company (LMC) that it has accepted to play its match day 18 with Enyimba International.
The Club in a press statement signed by its Secretary, Samson Adamu, and made available to DAILYPOST, Wednesday in Jos, said it regretted all inconveniences it had caused the league.
It reads, “Giwa FC pleads that the date of the match with Enyimba International be rescheduled to enable the team play the match, but not in Ilorin.”
The club equally promised to do its best to uphold the integrity of the league for the good of the game too.’
The statement also pleaded for an independent commission to be set up by the League Management Company (LMC) to look into the cases of the last two matches that the club missed with a view to allowing a replay based on arising conditions.
The statement further said, “As a law abiding club, Giwa FC promises to uphold the integrity of the league”.
It would be recalled that Giwa FC were penalised by the LMC a few week ago over crowd trouble during an NPFL game with Rangers International of Enugu, which was played at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos.
The Club was fined over N3 million and was banished to Ilorin for its next three home games, but refused to honour the first two games it was to play.
