Giwa FC have travelled to Umuahia, ahead of this weekend’s NPFL Match Day 15 fixture against Abia Warriors.

The Jos Elephants have stayed away from their last two league games against Enugu Rangers and Wikki Tourists. They would have been expelled from the NPFL, if they failed to honour Sunday’s match against Abia Warriors.

A club source told Goal, that they decided to make the trip for the game in Umuahia, but are expecting the League Management Company (LMC), to review the circumstances that led to their failure to attend those matches and probably order a replay.

He also revealed that it was the owner, Chief Chris Giwa, that prevented the team from travelling to Abuja to complete the Rangers tie and to Ilorin – where they had been banished to following crowd trouble – for the Wikki Tourists game.

Giwa FC take on Abia Warriors, desperate to improve their standings on the table, where they currently occupy the 19th position with 14 points from 14 matches.
