Gervinho, Chamakh, Bendtner left behind as Wenger takes 24-man squad to Asia Tour

Arsene Wenger has left out Thomas Vermaelen, Gervinho, Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh, from his 24-man squad, that left England today for the first led of their Asia Tour 2013. Instead, youngsters like Serge Gnabry, Thomas Eisfeld and 16-year-old Gedion Zelalem make the cut.

Thomas Vermaelen is nursing a back injury, that might see him miss the beginning of the new season, while Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal have been give time off, after travelling with Spain to Brazil for the Confederations Cup.

Gervinho is close to a move to Roma, although sickness is given as the official reason why he is not on the plane. Chamakh is attracting interest from Levante, while Bendtner is also speaking to several European clubs.
