Gerrard not decided on new Liverpool deal

Gerrard-Leicester Dec2014

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, has refused to confirm if he will sign a new deal with the club or not.

The 34-year-old’s current contract runs out at the end of the season, but Brendan Rodgers has revealed that there is an extension offer on the table for the player.

“I’ll decide when I’m ready. There’s nothing to say on the contract at the moment,” Gerrard told BT Sport.

“When there is – the fans have known me long enough – I’ll come out and I’ll say what I need to say.”

Gerrard scored the second goal for the Reds, as they came from behind to defeat 10-man Leicester City on Tuesday and hailed his team’s performance.

“I think over the last three performances we’ve been superb and we need to keep trying to improve on that,” he said.

“The reason I don’t want to answer your questions on my contract is because it’s not about me, it’s about the performance and a great three points, and that’s what the headline should be.”
