Former Bayer Leverkusen manager, Christoph Daum, has claimed that officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), have approached him to take over from Stephen Keshi, as the new coach of the Super Eagles.
The German also said that he rejected the offer to handle the African champions, after it was made last week.
“I had offers last week to become coach of Nigeria,” mobo.de quoted Daum as saying.
Keshi is yet to agree a new deal to continue as coach of the Nigerian national team, since the last one expired after the Brazil 2014 World Cup in June.
60-year-old Daum has managed German sides FC Cologne, VfL Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Turkish outfit, Bursaspor in the past and is currently out of work.
