General Alkali: 19 suspects arraigned in court

Barely 24 hours after the Plateau State Police Command paraded 19 suspects in connection with the death of General Idris Alkali, the suspects have been arraigned before Justice Daniel Longji of High Court 5 in Jos on Monday.
The suspects were arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
The prosecution counsel, Emmanuel Ochoma, moved the application for an ex-parte, and same was granted by the court.
Thereafter, the charges were read out to the accused, who all pleaded not guilty.
Ochoma then asked for an adjournment to enable the prosecution present witnesses to prove the case and further requested that the accused be remanded in prison.
The court granted the prayers and adjourned the matter to December 10, 2018 for hearing.
Meanwhile, the defence counsel, Gyang Zi, while answering questions from journalists after the court session, said that they will file for bail application immediately.
