Gbolahan Salami finishes as NPFL’s top scorer

Warri Wolves’ Gbolahan Salami, has ended the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2014/2015 season, as the highest goal scorer.

The Super Eagles striker scored twice in his team’s final match against FC Taraba on Monday, to take his tally to 17 goals.

His goals have earned Wolves a ticket to feature in next season’s CAF Champions League, as they finished second to champions Enyimba.

Tunde Adeniji finished with 16 goals in second place.

Salami will be presented with a special award named after legendary Nigerian striker, Rashidi Yekini.

Last season, Enyimba’s Mfon Udoh set a new record, after he netted 23 times.
