Gbemisola Saraki denies plans to dump PDP

Writer: AdminAdmin

Senator Gbemisola Saraki, first daughter of the late Kwara State political leader, Dr Olusola Saraki, has refuted the media speculations that she was planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The media was recently awash with the news that Senator Saraki was planning to leave the party over some irreconcilable differences between her and some leaders of the party in the state.

The story became evident after she failed to show up at the party’s presidential campaign rally in the state, which hosted President Goodluck Jonathan recently.

Speaking with newsmen at the Ilorin International Airport yesterday, Saraki denied the report, asserting that her focus was on the forthcoming elections rather than cooked up stories.

“The problem with this election is that it has been filled with rumours and counter rumour and stories. We should make the election issue-based and not rumours”, she said.

“My followers are seasoned politicians; we are seasoned politicians. We understand the system and we know what is important. I don’t need to advise them on what to do because they know what to do and Iinsa Allah they shall do it when the time comes,” the Senator added.
