Gbajabiamilia leads 29 other lawmakers to meet with Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday evening had a closed-door meeting with some members of the House of Representatives led by the All Progressives Congress, APC, preferred candidate for Speakership, Femi Gbajabiamila.

He led 29 other lawmakers loyal to him to the meeting which held inside the Conference Hall of the First Lady’s Office inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The parley started at about 9.55pm with the arrival of the President and the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

The visiting House members, who were drawn from all the six geo-political zones, were convened to the venue in two white Coaster buses.

News hounds were excused from the meeting when Senator Abu Ibrahim from Katsina State who apparently brokered the meeting was introducing Gbajabiamila and his group to the President.

The meeting is believed to be part of efforts aimed at resolving the leadership crisis rocking the two chambers of the National Assembly.

The President is said to meet with Speaker, Yakubu Dogara group in the coming days.
