Arsenal have stepped up their bid to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, with chief executive Ivan Gazidis and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, flying to Germany on Sunday for face-to-face negotiations.
Gazidis and Mislintat were photographed arriving to meet Dortmund’s executives, including chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke and general manager, Michael Zorc.
The Bundesliga club have already turned down the Gunners’ initial bid of around £44million.
Aubameyang is expected to cost Arsenal at least £53million.
The Gabon striker was left out of Dortmund’s squad for the 1-1 draw at Hertha Berlin last weekend, with the 29-year-old desperate to seal a switch to the Emirates.
