Musa Kwankwaso
Kano state governor, Umar Ganduje and his predecessor Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso have taken their political rivalry to another dimension with the former threatening to expose the latter.
The duo have been at loggerheads, with Kwankwaso being accused of inciting violence at the burial of Ganduje’s mother, in the presence of members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Governor Ganduje, who served as deputy governor under Kwankwaso for eight years, is said to have threatened to expose illicit deals carried out by his former boss.
Ganduje on Monday stated that: “Some works done (by Mr. Kwankwaso) were done with lots of misdeeds and betrayals which I will soon expose for people to know the calibre of person my predecessor was.”
“Kano people will always resist any attempt by anyone to shortchange them – which Kwankwaso did. Yes we knew the genuine projects including the shoddy ones which I will not tolerate by exposing them for people to judge his action.”
Ganduje affirmed that Kwankwaso cannot replace President Muhammadu Buhari while stating that “there is no vacancy for that position.”
“Unfortunately for him, the avenue and the time were so wrong. But because God wants to expose his antics which he has been doing against the president, he chose my mother’s death to launch the presidential campaign, but we leave him with the people.”
“A lot of things have been happening now. Some people have been trying to undermine President Muhammadu Buhari with all sorts of things. We will not tolerate it again here in Kano. We are tired of your atrocities. I will soon expose him before the people of Kano for them to to appreciate the satan in him.”
“People, who are now telling Buhari all sorts of things, are sycophants. They do not want Buhari to succeed. These people know themselves. When it gets to a stage, I will name them one after the other. I am not afraid of human beings. We are solidly behind President Muhammadu Buhari and his programmes. Kano people will not support anybody working against President Buhari.”
He further stated that: “It is unfortunate for the so-called politician who claimed to be leader to hire hoodlums with dangerous weapons to disrupt the peace of the state. Government and security agencies will not tolerate this attitude.”
“It is known to everybody that Ganduje is a man of peace, tolerance and patience; because I have tolerated Kwankwaso for a long time, but it is over and enough is enough.”
The governor assured Kano citizens that “we will work extra mile to restore the lost glory of Kano that had been seriously damaged by Kwankwaso. But we need your support and understanding, we are here to make things working and together we will do it.”
