A former Deputy Governor of Osun state, Senator Iyiola Omisore on Saturday described as shocking and unfortunate the killing of Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of the leader of the pan Yoruba socio-political group, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
DAILY POST recalls that Olakunrin was killed by some suspected herdsmen on Friday along the Benin-Ore road.
But, Omisore, in a message to condole with the Afenifere leader and his entire family on the untimely death of Mrs Olakunrin, said that he received the news with shock.
“I write to commiserate with the National leader of the Pan Yoruba Socio Political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti on the death of his daughter, Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin who was shot dead by some gunmen that reportedly attacked her and others on his way to Ondo on the Ore- Benin road on Friday,” he said.
Omisore lamented that “the killing of Olakunrin was shocking, unfortunate and sad at this particular period in the history of Nigeria.”
He however tasked Nigerians to be ready to give the necessary support to security agencies in ensuring that “we have a secured Nigeria to enhance the needed development in the country”.
Omisore also charged security agencies in the country to rise up to the Insecurity challenges presently facing the country especially in the areas of the increasing spate of killings and kidnapping across the country.
He then prayed that God will grant Pa Reuben Fasoranti and his entire family, the fortitude to bear the great loss.
