The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, have reacted to the death of a member representing Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Funke Adedoyin.
The lawmaker passed away in Abuja while treating an ailment suspected to be cancer.
Governor Ahmed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, said the state has lost one of her outstanding representatives.
Ahmed described her death as shocking and devastating.
The statement reads: “The governor said the late lawmaker was full of passion to serve her community and uplift the people of her constituency.
“Governor Ahmed recalled that Hon. Adedoyin during her stint at the lower chamber attracted federal presence to Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti/Oke-Ero federal constituency and empowered a number of people with a view to uplifting the welfare.
“Governor Ahmed commiserated with the immediate family of Adedoyin, her constituents and the entire people of the state over the irreparable lost.
“The Governor also sympathised with her colleagues in the House of Representatives, saying that the state would sorely missed her quality representation.”
On his part, Abubakar described the late Adedoyin as a brilliant and resourceful woman under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration
Atiku in a post on his Twitter page expressed his condolence to the families of the late Kwara lawmaker.
The Wazirin Adamawa wrote: “Princess Funke Adedoyin was a vivacious, brilliant and resourceful woman who served along with me diligently under the President Obasanjo administration.
“My deepest condolences to the Adedoyin family. May her soul rest in peace.
