Former Nigerian International, Fuludu Edema has warned Super Eagles players to be wary of the Chipolopolos of Zambia, ahead of Sunday’s World Cup qualifiers in Ndola.
Edema said that the Super Eagles must take the match very serious.
The midfielder, who was among the Tunisia ’94 African Cup of Nations wining team, stated that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and the invited players must take care of every detail to ensure they operate smoothly in Ndola.
He told Goal, “Zambia are one of the teams in our group that we must be wary off, and we must take this first match very seriously, and every little thing that must be done by the federation and the players to have a cohesive game in Zambia is very important for us.
“We have to play Zambia as if it is our last game in the qualifying series, so that we can come out with victory, or at worse, a draw.
“I believe if all the players come, and they are spoken to with a psychology, which is an important part of the game, then, I’m sure that we will come out with something good.
“Every story we hear in the news concerning the inability to fly to the match venue are mere distractions, and so the players must be focus, the NFF must also be focus, so that we can get there.
“Definitely, the coach has his plans, but I also believe that Nigeria has so large a pool of players that we can replace immediately, unlike some countries where when two or three quality players are injured, there’s a big hole in the team, but for our players, Leon Balogun, Victor Moses would have had a great impact on the team, but their replacements from the local league, are also flying so high now and they will work hard to equally make an impact on the team, and I think it’s a good thing they are recognised.
“So, the bottom line is Nigeria has a very big pool of players to always get from.”
