Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, Sunday stormed a meeting holding in Galadima area of Zamfara state, killing 30 people.
According to the Zamfara state Police Spokesman, Lawal Abdullahi, “Thirty people were killed and several others injured,”
“The incident happened in Galadima yesterday during a meeting of community leaders and representatives of vigilante groups who were discussing ways to thwart armed robbers and cattle rustlers,” he told AFP.
The police boss said security forces had since been deployed to the area to calm the situation.
However, a survivor who gave his name as Babangida told AFP that,“We counted 61 bodies from the scene of the attack last night, while many people were wounded.”
