A tanker loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, reportedly went up in flames in Iree, Osun State on Friday morning.

Eye witnesses say the tanker contained about 33,000 liters of petrol.

The tanker reportedly caught fire in the process of transferring fuel into an underground tank at a fuel station at Poly Junction in the area.

The fire, which started in the morning, was said to have lasted for over three hours.

Although no life was lost, no fewer than ten nearby shops were reportedly burnt from the incident.
